Even though the Ford Courier hasn’t been sold in the United States since 1982, you can still find them if you look hard enough. And in this case, you can find them in pretty nice condition.
This 1976 Ford Courier is currently for sale at Highway 12 Motorsports in Nashville, Tennessee. What makes this Courier so unique is its stepside bed. The Ford Courier was offered with a “California Stepside Conversion”. These trucks were sold without a bed so that a stepside bed manufactured by California Step-Side Manufacturing could be added.
California Step-Side Manufacturing, Inc. filed as an Articles of Incorporation in the State of California and is no longer active. This corporate entity was filed on Friday, September 12, 1975 as recorded in documents filed with California Secretary of State.
I have not seen any old advertisements for the “California Stepside Conversion”. If you have a photo of one or more information, please use the ‘Contact Us‘ button at the bottom right.
Aside from the cool stepside bed, the Courier appears to have Falken 225/65/ZR17 FK-452 performance tires on 17-inch American Racing wheels.
I also think it’s cool that it has a California license plate on it, since it appears to be a California truck with the California stepside.
