If you headed north from Michigan in to Canada, you’d find Dennis Noland cruising in his 1974 Ford Courier. Dennis first saw the Couier when he went with a friend to look at a ’67 Chevy. The truck was sitting in the corner of the yard with an ugly camper on it, and the owner wasn’t interested in selling. A few months later the owner finally decided to part with it.
After putting air in the tires, filing the points, and tossing the camper into his junk pile, Dennis drove it home with lumpy bias ply tires, vintage gasoline, and a big smile. A month later, it was bagged. Since there were no kits available for this truck, Dennis had to make his own parts.
Dennis has made the 1,400-mile round trip to Ohio for Dropt-n-Destroyed, and won RPM Hotrod’s No Shine award. Dennis likes the stock look with 14-inch steelies. After all, it’s a driver, not a trailer queen.
