1976 Ford F250 Highboy Overlander

I don’t know how anyone could not love the classic look of these late 1970’s Ford Trucks. Especially the factory stance of this 1976 Ford F-250 ‘Highboy’. This truck looks like it was meant to someday become the ultimate overlanding rig. And apparently it’s Texas owner feels the same way.

The factory stance of the Highboy allows it to fit 345/75R16 (36.4/13.5R16) Treadwright Guard Dogs tires. The Warn winch bumper and 8274 Warn winch will pull the truck free if it should get stuck.

I love that the owner stayed with factory steel wheels, and was able to find (4) matching hubcaps to keep the factory look.

The Ford 390 V8, NP435 4-speed manual, and manual transfer case gives the truck plenty of power to go anywhere it wants, and it’s not plagued with all the modern electronics that can leave you stranded in remote areas.

Likewise, the no frills interior is pretty basic as well, but features the necessities like a stereo, CB radio, cup holders, and gauges to monitor the engine.

A camper shell was added over the bed to provide plenty of sleeping and storage space, and a roof rack was added to carry addition gear on top. The (4) 9-inch Auxbeam LED lights on the roof and KC Halogen lights on the front bumper offer plenty of light to keep the adventures going after dark.
