Ford Excursion Dome Light Stuck On

Have you experienced problems with your dome light staying on in your Ford Excursion?

A common source for the problem is the latches in the rear bran doors. These latches rust and stick causing the switch for the dome light to stay on.

In the photo below you can see how rusty the handle mechanism is for the right door. Spray it with WD-40 and work the mechanism until it moves freely.

Also do the same with the handle for the left door.

Don’t forget the latch mechanisms.

Since you’ve gone this far, do the same for the driver and all passenger doors. They’ll likely need lubricated as well.
